Our athletic programs allow our student-athletes to develop a healthy respect for daily exercise, competition, self-discipline, team camaraderie, and the rewards of good sportsmanship. We are dedicated to strengthening the character of our student-athletes by placing emphasis on trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.

River Mill Academy high school is a member of the Central Tar Heel Conference and is governed by all of the rules and regulations of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA). Schools that make up the Central Tar Heel 1A Conference are Chatham Charter School, Clover Garden School, River Mill Academy, Southern Wake Academy, Triangle Math & Science, and Woods Charter.

Our middle school athletic teams compete in the Mid-State Conference which includes the following schools: Chatham Charter School, Clover Garden School, Cornerstone Charter Academy, Kestrel Heights, River Mill Academy, and Woods Charter School. We also compete with other charter and private schools in Alamance, Durham, and Guilford counties.
