Mrs. Smith’s Classroom Behavior Policy
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I can’t believe that we are already starting off the 2024-2025 school year! I am looking forward to great year with your child. In order to make sure that each child at River Mill receives their best education, we hold high behavioral expectations for them. I have outlined below what those will be for this year.
Your child is expected to follow our basic classroom rules which are:
- Be kind and help others
- Raise hand before speaking
- Stay in seat while completing work
- Listen and follow Directions
- Work quietly
- Do their best
We will be using Class Dojo this year to record negative and positive behavior. You will need to download the app on your mobile device, and I will send you an invite to connect to our classroom. If you have any questions about how to use Class Dojo, please contact me. When your child loses points they will have logical consequences for their actions which may result in losing computer time, having silent lunch, writing an apology letter, being seated away from others, etc.
Students will earn points when they are caught exhibiting positive behavior. Each day we total up their cumulative points, and once they reach 15 they can earn a prize/reward. We then reset and start over so they can continue to earn lots of prizes all year.
If your child struggles to follow the behavioral expectations of the class, I will contact you to set-up a conference to discuss ways we can work together to help your child succeed.
Let’s make this year awesome!
