2024-2025 Information

Fall Sports Meeting on July 30 for Middle & High School Students

We will hold our Mandatory Fall Sports Meeting on Tuesday, July 30 at 6:30 pm in the high school gym. Any student interested in participating in a Fall Sport (MS/HS volleyball, MS/HS Boys soccer, MS/HS mixed cross country, Varsity Women's tennis, and Varsity Women's Golf) is required to be in attendance with their Parent or Guardian per the NCHSAA state requirement. If you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected].

Orientation/Open House on Wednesday, August 7

A floating orientation for all students will be held on Wednesday, August 7 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Parents and students can visit their classrooms anytime during that window. Parents and students of incoming 6th graders should plan on reporting to the cafeteria at 9:00 am for a brief presentation. Please enter through the black gates facing Cheeks Lane or at the front of the school. Staff will be on hand to direct you to your locations.

RMA t-shirts will be on sale in the lobby during orientation. T-shirts are $10.00 each and we accept cash, card, and check.

Bus Registration Opens on August 1

If your child will ride a bus to and/or from school, please register your child using the link on the RMA website. Registration opens on August 1, 2024 at 8:00 am. Space is limited and will be awarded in the order of registration.

It is important that no student be left unattended at a morning pick-up point. A parent/guardian must remain with the student until the bus arrives and walk their student to the bus entrance.

Afternoon buses will depart River Mill Academy at 2:40 pm. No student will be dropped off at an afternoon bus stop unless a parent/guardian is at the bus stop, waiting outside their vehicle. If a student’s parent/guardian is not present prior to the departure time, the student will be brought back to the school.

New Online Order System for School Lunch

The current provider of our food service software will be ending the service in January 2025. Therefore, River Mill Academy decided to transition to a new provider effective July 1, 2024.

MealManage will be the new provider for our food service software. This means that ALL parents who want to order hot meals for their children will need to create a new account with MealManage.

All parents will be sent a “Welcome to MealManage” email on or around July 11 with a link to create a parent account with MealManage. Check your spam folder if you don’t see the email in your inbox. A set-up guide is available on the River Mill Academy website. Instructional videos can be found on the FAQ page on the MealManage website.

Current balances in student lunch accounts will be transferred to the student’s new MealManage account. Student account numbers in MealManage will use the student’s PowerSchool ID number just as in MySchoolAccount.

Danny’s Café and Pizza Hut will still provide the same meals that the students have enjoyed the past several years. Monthly lunch menus will be posted online and available for ordering around the 15th of each month. Orders for the upcoming week must be placed by Thursday at 11:30 pm. Payments to student lunch accounts may be made online using your credit or debit card. A small processing fee will be added to the charge. Payments may also be made by check or cash in the front office at the school.

Parents can access their MealManage account through either a desktop/laptop computer or a smartphone.

2nd Annual Golf Tournament

The 2nd Annual River Mill Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, August 17 at Brookwood Golf Course. Registration begins at 8:00 am and the shotgun start is a 8:30 am. Team fee is $280 and includes lunch following the tournament. Hole sponsorships are available for $100 and flag sponsorships are $300. Please see the flyer for more details.

Pay School Fees Online

For parents who would prefer to pay school fees online, River Mill Academy has partnered with Online School Payments (OSP) to offer a convenient way for parents to pay for school fees online using a credit card. Both the PE Fee and Laptop Insurance may be purchased online.
