The River Mill Academy Underwater Robotics Club is a central part of RMA’s STEM Program. The club is an afterschool extracurricular activity for Middle and High School students, offering leadership opportunities and fostering teamwork. It challenges students in various engineering fields, including electrical, marine, and systems engineering. URC helps students gain experience in research, design, implementation, and public speaking. The teacher advisors for URC are Mr. Dragon and Mr. Scott, with mentoring from Thom Wilcox (General Dynamics). We look forward to competing in the Seaperch Regional Contest in New Bern and SeaMATE’s Coastal Carolina Regional Competition, and we expect a strong, competitive program for years to come.
