Homework Folders

I will send homework folders home each day and the students will turn them in each morning. Please check this folder as it will have important papers that are sent home, notes from me if any, and contain their homework.  We will slowly transition into doing homework, but I will send an email / post on Class Dojo Story when we begin homework which will be a few weeks into the school year.

Students will have reading and math every week. Homework will be due on Friday. The late policy is 10 points per day. Students will also be expected to read 20 minutes per night. They will record their minutes on a reading log that will be turned in at the end of each week. I will be checking for reading logs daily in their homework folder. 

Grading Policy and Late Policy

River Mill has a late work policy for students. Students will receive a 10-point deduction per day for three days. Assignments will no longer be accepted, and students will receive a zero on day 4. Students who are absent will be given time to complete the missing work. 

Classroom Management

For my class, we will be using Class Dojo to earn points for the class store. Students will be able to use their points on stickers, class coupons, treasure box, etc. 

Students are expected to follow these rules in the classroom. 

1. We keep our hands and feet to ourselves.
2. We listen when others are speaking.
3. We are kind to one another.
4. We treat others with respect.
5. We move around safely.
6. We try our best! 

Student Consequences within the classroom. 

First Time - Warning

Second Time - Fill out a rule sheet (what did they do, what should they have been doing) & time off recess / silent lunch. Rule Sheet will be sent home (notified by parent on Class Dojo) and parent must sign off on sheet and return.  

Third Time - Parent Contact Phone Call / Behavior has been logged into the system for admin / Rule Sheet / Time Off Recess and Silent Lunch.
