High School Exams and EOC Tests

 High School students will begin final exams and End-of-Course tests on Thursday, May 16. All high school students shall take semester examinations. High school students may be exempt from final examinations when they have met the following criteria.

The following exam exemption requirements apply to 
core classes: 

  1. Exemptions apply only to seniors. 
  2. Student must maintain a course average of 90 or higher. 
  3. Student must have three or fewer absences for the course (excused or unexcused). 
  4. Students must have five or fewer late arrivals to school over the course of the semester (excused or unexcused). 

Students in grades 9 through 12 may be exempt from elective final examinations using the above criteria. Students who are exempt will be notified by their teacher. Students may not be exempt from a state mandated assessment regardless of the grade they are earning in the class. 

All students must remain in their testing location until the conclusion of the half day at 11:30 am. High School students will need to arrange to be picked up at 11:30 am in the normal car-rider location during days they are testing. Students who ordered hot lunch may pick up in the cafeteria before going to the car rider line.

State End-of-Course Exams and Final Exams count as 20% of the final grade.
