School of Distinction

Once a year River Mill Academy provides updates on our school's achievements through the North Carolina School Report Card. For the 2009-2010 school year, River Mill Academy has earned recognition as a school of Distinction.

This Report Card includes important information about school and student performance, class sizes, attendance, school safety, instructional resources, and teacher quality. There also is information about how our school measured against federal Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) targets and the number of suspensions and expulsions in our school.

Our school’s full Report Card can be found on the NC School Report Cards’ website at www.ncreportcards.org. School Report Cards are provided for regular public schools, charter school, and alternative schools that were open during the 2009-2010 school year.

The numbers only tell part of the story. At River Mill Academy, we are proud of the following special activities that are underway, which include teacher tutoring, campus tours for prospective students, Athletic Booster Club, Parents and Teachers Together, Arts Club, and athletic activities. Our website provided current updates and announcements. Additionally, a weekly E-News is published to parent email addresses. Our teachers maintain class updates on the web, as well.

State and local education leaders are committed to providing parents with more information about schools. Well-informed parents who participate in their children’s education and school enhance the learning environment for students and educators alike. In addition, the federal No Child Left Behind Act requires schools to issue Report Cards.

At River Mill Academy your involvement is very important to the success of our school! We encourage parents to review our Report Card carefully, then feel free to contact the Principal directly to discuss any questions or concerns regarding the Report Card.
